Bedford Public Library

Volunteer

Volunteering offers citizens the opportunity to utilize current skills, develop new skills, acquire leadership abilities, meet their neighbors and give back to their community.

Working under the supervision of library staff, volunteers provide valuable support and assistance. Volunteer opportunities may include shelving books and media, providing homework help or providing computer instruction. We interview all potential volunteers to assess their interests and skills and place volunteers accordingly within the Library.

Becoming a Volunteer

Becoming a volunteer is easy. Adults should review the list of Current Volunteer Opportunities and then fill out the online application. Please note that all adult volunteer candidates must pass a physical and a background check.  After we receive your information, you will be contacted for a brief interview so that we can match your qualifications, interests and skills to available opportunities.

Teens age 13 – 18.
Summer Teen Volunteer Application – Deadline for submission is May 26.
