Book a Librarian
Book a Librarian is by-appointment reference service that the Bedford Public Library provides for adult BPL cardholders who want one-on-one guidance. Some of the things we can help with are downloading ebooks and digital magazines, filling out a job application, setting up an email account, using one of the library’s databases, creating a reading list or providing a tour of the Library. The Library hosts a variety of computer classes throughout the year. Class subjects include computer skills, Internet basics, and more. Some classes require registration.
Computers with Internet access and Office Products (including Word and Excel) are provided in the adult, teen and children's areas. Self-registration is available with your Bedford Public Library card. Both black & white and color printing are offered for a small fee. B&W printing - .20 cents per page
Color printing - .50 cents per page
Two coin-operated photocopiers are provided for public use. Standard 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 14 copies can be made for .20 cents a page.
ZoomText software is provided on two of the public access computers. ZoomText Magnifier/Reader is a fully integrated magnification and screen reading program that enlarges, enhances and reads aloud everything on the computer screen. ZoomText computers may be reserved by calling 817-952-2350. Please identify yourself as low vision and have your library card number ready so that staff can make the reservation. The library also provides the Vantage CCD Reader, a magnifier that can turn any print into large print.
The library provides a self service fax machine for the sending of faxes. The first page costs $1.75 and subsequent pages cost $1.00 per page. The machine takes credit or debit cards.
Library users may place their own holds on materials. There is no fee for this service.
Free drop-in homework help at the Library on Monday & Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm. Teen Volunteers wil be available to assist children in grades 1-6 with their homework questions on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is not required.
Note - There will be no one-on-one sessions with a specific volunteer tutor.
Income Tax Forms
The Library maintains a collection of the most commonly utilized forms for the public to pick up from January through April 15th. Reproducible tax forms for past years are available on CD-ROM.
Interlibrary Loan - Temporarily Unavailable
If you need books, media or a magazine article that is not in our collection, try using the Interlibrary Loan service. There is a small charge for this service.

Meeting Room Space
Public meeting rooms are available for rent. 501(c)(3) organizations located in Bedford, Hurst and Euless may use the spaces for a flat rate of $25.00 per meeting.

To make a room reservation request, please use our online reservation system.
You may access your own library account via the Internet; you will need your library card number. See what you have checked out, due dates, holds you have placed and even renew materials.
A variety of programs are offered throughout the year. For information, call 817-952-2350, or check the Library Events calendar.
Library materials will automatically renew on the due date if eligible.
Conditions that will prevent renewals are:
- Item has reached maximum renewal of 4 times
- On Hold for another patron
- Patron has fines at or above $10
- Item is a current Bluebonnet Award nominee
- Book Club and Educational kits
The Library provides the Scannx Book ScanCenter, an easy-to-use, self-service scanner. The touchscreen guides the suer through the scanning processing including file formats, scan quality, color depth, file naming, and destinations. Scan books and documents into PDF, searchable PDF, Word, JPEG, TIFF and PNG file formats by simply touching the screen for the preferred file format. Searchable PDF files allow you to search for any word in the PDF file or copy text out. The Scannx Book ScanCenter offers touch-screen scanning to Email, SmartPhones & Tablets, USB Drives and Google Docs.

Summer Reading Club
One of our biggest events, especially for kids, is the Summer Reading Club held each June and July. Read books and receive prizes. There are also exciting programs scheduled each week. Adults and Teens may participate in their own Summer Reading Club.
Voter registration cards may be picked up at the Check Out desk.
Wireless Internet Access
Bedford Public Library offers free wireless Internet access to library card holders. You will need a wireless device that is 802.11a or 802.11g compliant and a web browser. Learn more about wireless Internet access.
